Kathleen Kreps

Kate was born and raised in Thunder Bay.  Kate received her Bachelor of Arts (Psychology, English), First Class Standing from Lakehead University in 2008, and her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law in 2012. After completing her law degree, Kate returned home to Thunder Bay to complete articles.  She was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2013 and has been practicing law in Thunder Bay since that time. For 10 years prior to joining Petrone & Partners, Kate practiced in a local firm in the areas of insurance-related claims (defence litigation and subrogated claims), and institutional defence.  

Kate practices in all areas of civil litigation, with an emphasis on insurance-related claims, personal injury litigation, and estate matters. Kate has appeared before all levels of Court in Ontario. 

Kate has served as a Director and member of the Executive for the Thunder Bay Law Association. She was also a member of the Young Advocates' Standing Committee of the Advocates' Society.  Kate is proud to have been the Vice Chair of the Certification Review Committee for Lifesaving Society Ontario, which is an organization that is close to her heart as a former lifeguard and lifelong lover of swimming.  Kate is a member of the Thunder Bay Law Association, the Advocates' Society, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Ontario Bar Association.  

In her spare time, Kate enjoys family time with her husband, two daughters, and the family dog, as well as her extended family.  She loves walking and spending time enjoying the outdoors, especially floating in Lake Superior at the family camp.
