Eliza Fleming

Eliza graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Legal Studies in 2021. During her time at UW, she was a member of the Legal Studies Society where she facilitated events to connect law schools with undergraduate students like herself who were interested in pursuing a career in law. Outside of school, she obtained experience assisting a local criminal defence lawyer and moonlit as a hot air balloon chaser.

In 2022, Eliza joined Lakehead University’s Bora Laskin Faculty of Law and obtained her Juris Doctor in 2025. Throughout her time in law school, she gained valuable experience working in a local firm assisting primarily with real estate and civil litigation matters. Taking a particular interest in litigation, she completed additional experiential training in civil trial advocacy and effective legal strategy. Following her call to the bar in 2025, Eliza looks forward to continuing to focus on both civil litigation real estate as her primary areas of practice.

Outside of work, Eliza spends her time with her cat, Gretchen, or keeping active with yoga, running, camping, and insisting that Lake Superior is not too cold to swim in.
